Growth Consulting
We fix the one constraint holding your company back, and we measure the result the way a buyer would.
We consult on the Operating Core 4: numbers, operations, people and AI. All four are scored against your own baseline before work starts, the lowest score picks the work, and the same four are scored again at the end. We find the constraint, fix it, measure the result against the recorded baseline, and move to the next one.
Why this sits inside an advisory firm
The same firm runs the sale, so the work is built for diligence from the first week.
You can buy growth help for years and still not be able to point to what any of it changed, because nothing was measured before it started. When your company eventually transacts, that work is invisible in diligence, since no record of it exists in a form a buyer can check.
We advise you on sales and financings too, so every constraint we close is written down while it is fresh, dated and evidenced well enough for a buyer to check years later. When you decide to sell or raise, the Strategic Capital Process starts from a company already prepared to be read.
Who this is for
Engagement criteria
The work is embedded and measured. These are the parameters we work within.
- Client
- Owner-led operating companies preparing for growth, a raise, or an exit.
- Scope
- The Operating Core 4: numbers, operations, people and AI.
- Method
- A baseline is recorded before work starts, and every engagement is measured against it.
- Record
- The Operating Record: one dated entry per cycle naming the constraint, the fix and the result.
The Operating Core 4
The constraint sits in one of the Operating Core 4.
Numbers
Revenue sits inside this: where demand comes from, what it converts at and what each unit of it earns. We build acquisition you own instead of channels you rent, and reporting you can trust, so your business runs on numbers rather than memory.
Operations
Your business slows down whenever you step away from it. We document each process, train your team to run it, and install reporting that shows the truth weekly without you in the room.
People
Roles are held together by whoever happens to be willing, and nobody is measured. We draw your organisation around the work: each seat defined in writing, recruited into deliberately, and measured against its own standard.
AI
Hours go into mechanical work that no one would choose to do by hand. We automate those hours and train your team to work alongside the systems, to the same build standard we use on the firm's own origination engine.
Track record
The track record behind the method.
The founder operated companies before he advised them, and installed the same systems for clients afterwards. He built his first gym to $90,000 a month before turning twenty-one, then a fitness consulting business to $250,000 a month across seven locations and thirty-five staff. He also built The Polar Room, a health and beauty clinic, scaled its revenue tenfold, and removed himself from its operations entirely.
Client-side, at a mortgage broker, annual marketing spend went from about $420,000 to about $120,000 and the telemarketing team from seven people to one, while revenue doubled. The full context behind each number is written up and shared before an engagement starts.
Process
How an engagement runs
Baseline
The Operating Core 4 scored in writing against the numbers as they stand, before any work begins, so the result has something honest to be measured against.
- All four areas scored: numbers, operations, people and AI
- Recorded baseline across revenue, conversion, capacity and cost
Diagnosis
The lowest score picks the work. The diagnosis ends in a written position naming the constraint that is binding now, the fix for it and the effect we expect, with the reasoning shown.
- The binding constraint named, with the reasoning on the page
- A written position, delivered as a document you hold
Decision pointThe written position is yours to keep and act on whether or not you engage us to build the fix.
Build
We work inside your business until the constraint moves, and nothing else starts while it is open.
- The system built, installed and handed over to your team
- Weekly numbers against the baseline
Proof
The Operating Core 4 scored again and measured against the baseline, and the next constraint named whether or not we are engaged to fix it. Some engagements end here by design.
- Result against baseline, in numbers
- The next constraint, named in writing
Decision pointWith the result measured, you decide whether the next constraint needs an engagement or is work your team can now run itself.
Record
Each cycle is entered in the Operating Record: the constraint, the fix, the result and the date. It is a working document while the engagement runs, and a data-room document when your company sells.
- A dated entry per cycle, held by you
- Kept in the form a buyer's diligence team expects
Never open a second constraint while one is live. Results are reported only where the baseline supports them.
Questions owners ask
Before an engagement starts
Our numbers are messy. Can you still set a baseline?
Yes. The baseline is built from the records you already keep, and anything estimated is marked as an estimate. Where the reporting itself is the problem, fixing it becomes the first constraint, since nothing after it can be measured honestly until it works.
What does AI mean here?
Finding the mechanical hours in your business and automating them, then training the team that works alongside the systems. We build these systems for ourselves first: the firm's origination engine reads every line of the loan schedules that lenders file with the SEC each quarter, and it does the work of a research team. That build standard is what an engagement installs.
We have no plans to sell. Does the Operating Record still matter?
It earns its place as a working document first, because it tells you which fixes moved the numbers and which did not. If you sell or raise later, the record is already written and dated, in the place a data room will need it.
